The current confusion caused by the decision of the Electoral Commission is just another example of how government and government agencies consider themselves to be private clubs to do as they please without reference to public opinion and without any attempt to explain their decisions and activities.

I have posed questions to many senior politicians asking for an explanation of certain decisions made and have never once received a relevant response.

In this case of the Electoral Commission, they say that there has been no government intervention - pardon me for being very disbelieving!
