Lord Strathclyde is probably right, Tony Blair and the New Labour apparatchiks have already show their total distain for parliamentary procedure, along with anything else which can stand in the way of the elected house, preferring to believe that the largest party in the commons is entitled to absolute control. Unfortunately the Conservatives have not exactly covered themselves in glory when it comes to protecting the British constitution, in the main they have taken the line of least resistance as the Blair camp have progressively attacked and undermined all of the blocks against an overpowering executive. “
