For the benefit of Scotland
The Scottish fishermen are concerned about a proposal from the European Commission. That would allow the Commission to give any unused fishing quota from one country to another.
It is felt that the industry which has already suffered a reduction of more than 50% of its capacity because of the Common Fisheries Policy would be further penalised by this new proposal.
This has led to some complaining that Scotland would be better of negotiating directly with the EU as an Independent member state, and blaming Westminster for not protecting the Scottish fishing fleet from EU legislation.
It has obviously not connected that the British fishing fleet as a whole has suffered and not just Scotland. Or that for the past 10 years it has been a Scottish dominated Westminster government who have been conducting negotiations with the EU. Or that the present British Prime Minister signed the Scottish Claim of Rights, therefore taking an oath to put Scottish interests before any other interests.
But never mind it has become obvious that the Scottish Nationalists will not let any reality stand in the way of finding some device for blaming England and the non existing English Parliament for everything they possible can, even when is being run by the Scots who have taken an oath to put the interests of Scotland above all else.

To be fair the Scottish fishermen show solidarity with their English counterparts. It’s politicians who have nationalised the arguments.
The English fleet has been completely decimated, and a way of life, a culture, has been lost forever. The Scots are lucky that they still have a good proportion of their fleet remaining.

Like you said, it’s always someone elses fault; never theirs. Scotland has an office connected to the eu. It is in Edinburgh. Complain via that.

England doesnt have an English executive office in Brussels because we do not have our own parliament and executive. Obviously the sweats and the eurolanders are responsible for this fascism!

As far as i’m concerned, the eurolanders can go to hell. The sweats? How can I hate such a worthless bunch. I only feel indifference for them. They are not even worth the effort.
