Fitna

wildersfitnamovieaboutkoran

I watched Fitna last night, one of the very minor consequences of the British government refusing entry to the country of a democratically elected MP from an EU state. Had they not done so I would never have watched that film, but because my government took this unprecedented action I wanted to see what al the fuss was about.

Well I said I watched it, to tell the truth I watched around half of it, in the end I got fed up with the repetitive nature, a verse from the Koran fading into pictures of an Imams making what can only be described as hate speeches, which in turn faded into images of the carnage wrought by Islamic terrorism. One or two such sequences would have made the point adequately. That the Koran does contain very questionable passages is not an issue as I understand the same could be said of the Bible, no the real issue is that some Muslims are using these passages as an excuse for their terrorist activities and some imams as using these passages to stir up hatred against non Muslims.

That is the distinctive difference, we do not witness Church of England Bishops waving their fists in the air and urging their congregation to go out and slaughter non believers. In fact ask anyone in this country and I bet that very few would be able to point to passages in the Bible that do stir up religious hatred.

The film graphically and I must say disturbingly only demonstrated  that which I already knew, the connection between the Koran and terrorist activities is not even a controversial issue because the terrorist themselves tell us clearly that the Koran is the basis for their actions.

So why did the British government decide to ban Geert Wilders, his film after all is not portraying a lie, in itself it does not stir up racial strife, unless the government believes a film showing that some Muslims doing exactly that, can be equated with the original.

It would look as if the government are trying to sweep all this under the carpet both the actions of some Muslim Imams the effect on the fundamentalists and the portrayal of their actions in a film.  If the government do believe that, then they really should not have got involved, because they have created a much higher level of publicity for this film than would ever have been the case had the visit been allowed to proceed.

Is not the real threat to public order the belief that you can ignore a cancer in society in the hope that it will disappear, is not the real threat the idea that none of us will be allowed religious freedoms with the one exception? That 5 year old children are not allowed to mention Jesus in case it offends? That diversity does not mean freedom to worship but the suppression of any outward expression of all other religions. Is not the real threat to our society that we allow the fear of causing offence to destroy the basic freedom of speech this country has been at the forefront of promoting, or allowing a religion which is so sensitive to offence to dictate our terms of reference.

Sorry Ali it won’t wash to attempt to pass off comment about Muslim terrorists as evidence of hatred of Islam.

I fully understand the argument that these terrorist do not represent Islam but their argument is that they do, so it is a debate that should be going on internally amongst Muslims, unfortunately the terrorists do not confine their activities to scholarly debate.

The point at issue seems to be one of freedom of expression, is it right to allow “some” radical Muslim clerics the freedom to stir up hatred yet prevent anyone pointing out the fact that this is happening, this case would seem to suggest it is.

The same applies to Muslims, why when you see someone doing bad things, you say this is because he is Muslim, why don’t you say he doesn’t represent Islam.

At the end I declare that this movies is created by someone who doesn’t know about Islam, he hates Muslims, so he is not fair, he included alot of lies and fake stories. It is the biased media that you take your knowledge from it.

But lets get some step forward now:
-If Islam is so bad as you think, why are amny christians converts to Islam daily in America and Europ? and they never come back to christianity again?
-Why are those converted people to Islam, are eager than even Muslims (who were born as Muslims) to tell other christians about their stories and urge them to convert to Islam?
-Why learn about Islam from non-Muslim?, specially who hates Islam and wants to give a very bad picture of it?, Why don’t you get to know Islam from real Islam sources, defenitly you will change your opinion.

    Hi,

Haven’t you give your self at least 1 second of thinking that this movie is not true about Muslim?
I mean, I’m from a different country from UK, and if I intend to make a movie about UK that (I propably hate for some reasons), this movie would be filled by hatred to UK and fake stories, what if some one from China watches this movie about UK people ,  govermnet and religion? Oh by the way he no nothing about UK.
Definetly, he will consider that what ever he sees is the truth, he will never figure out that this movie was made full of lies because I hate UK … Do you agree?
This is the same case as this stupid movie about Islam,
But I can tell you what : I’m living since long time in a Europ country (??????) I have read Quran maney times, I’m trying to stick eith its rules and regulations, and guess what, Quran never wanted me to kill innocent people or be a terrorist, on the contrary to this, Quran always asked me to behave good, never steal, never fornicate, never cheat never swear, never harm any innocent person, keep good relation with people creator ..  alot of good things
What is meet some one (or more) from UK who was offensive to me or tried to kill me, he is also a christian, would I say that ALL CHRISTIANS are killers, or ALL UK people are killer, sure not, If he is representing christianity or UK he should behave good, but his is not an example of UK people, in fact he is a bad example.

BRAVO. . .you’ve arrived at a fundamental observation.  The bible reveals historic events confined to it’s time and place .. .whereas the qur’an dictates the example to be followed for all time against all non-believers.
