The first group of what is intended to become a reasonable full list of UK based political Blogs. Yes I know the list is unbalanced but that will change over time, until then you could try the Guardian or the BBC.

The Huntsman

Commenting on British and EU politics from a libertarian right position

Devils Kitchen

Right of centre Libertarian blog contains a fair smattering of bad language good following well supported lots of comments.

EU Referendum

The leading very well researched, highly informative, EUscpetic blog, only to be expected as it is written by two professional researchers Dr Richard North and Dr Helen Szamuely. The blog links to a very active forum.

Defence of the Realm

Dr Richard North, an offshoot from EU Referendum, this blog deals specifically with UK defence issues, with a particular emphasis on equipment, procurement issues and the economics of war. It is very much a campaigning blog, seeking to reduce deaths and injuries amongst British troops deployed overseas.

Nosemonkey’s EUtopia

An elitists pro-EU blog written by Clive Mathews epitomises the confused convoluted political thinking that has resulted in Britain’s continued drift into further EU unification. Fully supportive of the ideal of the European Project yet at the same time claiming to be non-partisan, perhaps NM thinks he is not an EU supporter because whilst supporting it he also suggests that this particular EU is not acceptable.

Either that or Mr Mathews is a bit of a chameleon and is only pretending to want change whilst in reality is an advocate for the present and only EU on the table.

(I mean non-partisan as in not supporting any one political party, but that’s beside the point.) Comment

The Purple Scorpion

The Purple Scorpion is a member of the low tax coalition and thus writes extensively on government waste and allied issues, as well as politics generally and EU affairs.

Harry`s Place

A blog I have previously avoided because of its left wing positioning, but reading it for the first time in a long while, I could not honestly say I was struck by an obvious blatantly annoying political bias, seemed more of a critique of the loony left.

Perhaps explains why it dropped from 4 to 18 in the Top 100 Left of Centre Blogs. It has certainly dropped into my reading range.

John Redwood’s Diary

Obviously solid Conservative, perhaps its me, but I get the impression that Mr Redwood presents his own views (those in particular related to our constitution or the EU) almost as if they were Conservative party policy, I forget how many times I have tried to clarify that particular point with him.

The Anglo Saxon Chronicle

Well informed if somewhat populist in style blog written by Anonemouse with lots of cartoons masking a very serious EUsceptic outlook. Sister blog Anoneumouse for the more serious stuff. (Not recently updated)

Quaequarm blog

Pronounced kway kwam Proish Eu LibDem Blog, lots of well informed comment from the Liberal perspective

The TransAtlantic Assembly

Blog of American and European Practitioners and Academics on International Law, Theory and Politics, Comparative Constitutional Law, European Law and Politics, Law and Philosophy. Group written informative looks both ways on the EU.
